Multi-Sport Summer Camp Coach for ages 5-12 yrs old

  • Must have at least 1 year of class or 1 season of camp coaching experience (less than one year experience, can apply to assist)
  • Must have at least 6 years of soccer playing experience on a recreational or competitive team
  • Must have at least 4 years of soccer playing experience on a recreational or competitive team or equivalent in either flag football, basketball, volleyball, or baseball; and be willing to learn/play/teach fun versions of the sports they are not familiar with from the listing above
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be available for Summer hours 8:30am - 12pm, or 8:30am - 3:15pm, Monday Through Friday, from June 3rd to August 9th. Other hours available in addition for weekend and weekdays, year-round, for the right candidate.

Job Type: Part-time, Seasonal/Temporary

Coach Rate:  $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  •  8:30am or 9am to either 12:15pm, or 3:15pm (specify your preference in the application) 
    • Extended hours may be available from 7:50am to 4:05pm for those interested
  • Must be available to work from from June 3rd to August 9th this Summer
  • No Camp July 1-5 for the holiday week
  • Year-round class instructor positions might be available for the right candidates for available classes.

Location (in person):

  • 12000 Campus Dr., Oakland, CA 94619 - Turf field, also has large tent on part of turf for shade for some portions of the camp.  And, indoors at 210 Hegenberger Loop, Oakland. (locations vary per week, but the full week is at one specific location)

SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTIONS - The mission of One Village Sports’ Camps is to provide our players with high quality camps in a safe, fun, and professional environment. The Coach is responsible for child safety, staff safety, facility/equipment safety,  for setting up and breaking down the field equipment, coaching, following the curriculum,  roster management, sport demonstration, equipment management, and communication to parents if needed, and communication to the supervisor and One Village Sports Management for  their assigned roles.  Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times, and according to Company policies and procedures. Responsible for customer service issues related for assigned  programs - ex: parent feedback, incident and injury reports, and roster attendance. Know and comply with all of the Company’s policies and procedures. 

EXPERIENCE & SKILL SET REQUIREMENTS

  • Must ensure safety
  • Must have experience working with children
  • Must have soccer and/or sports playing experience
  • Must be able to coach soccer
  • Must be able to demonstrate all soccer moves in a technically sound manner
  • Must have the endurance to coach up to 6 hours in one shift
  • Must be able to keep the players attention as appropriate for the age level
  • Must be organized and customer service orientated
  • Must have a high level of motivation, desire and drive to be a winner and achieve maximum compensation. 
  • Must be a self starter and self motivated
  • Must be a problem solver
  • Must be computer literate at least to the extent of the company operating system. 
  • Must be punctual
  • Must have a high level of professionalism, honesty, integrity and an excellent work ethic. 

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems.

DRESS CODE Coaches are role models and represent the image of the company. Must maintain a clean uniform & and professional appearance with proper hygiene standards.

  • All coaches must wear their coaches shirt or sweatshirt. If needed on cold days, can wear white, black or athletic grey undershirts or long sleeve t-shirts underneath the uniform shirt.
  • Plain black, white or gray Athletic Pants or shorts can be worn.  No jeans or non-athletic shorts or pants.
  • Athletic footwear, turf shoes or cleats must be worn for the proper sport and proper surface (turf shoes on turf).
  • All coaches must wear a working watch
  • Cell phones or other electronic devices are not allowed to be used on the field and/or during the work shift under any circumstances.  Only the supervisor may use a cell phone for work purposes.
  • Baseball hats are permitted if they are plain black or royal blue with no team logos.  Adidas, Nike or other brand name logos are accepted.  One Village Sports hats are accepted.  No other hats are permitted
  • Any additional layers of clothing must be worn underneath the coach shirt so the coach shirt is showing.
  • Long hair must be neatly tied back
  • Facial hair must be neatly groomed or clean shaven
  • No team logos or other non-clothing brand company logos may be worn (Nike, Adidas, and similar brands are acceptable)
  • Must maintain proper hygiene standards

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT Physical effort is required to carry out daily duties.  Must be energetic and able to run, jump, turn, kick, sprint, bend, stretch and perform sports related movements.   Must have the endurance to coach.

CODE OF CONDUCT Must maintain a professional manner at all times at or near work, and while in uniform.   Must adhere to the policies of the company handbook.

Candidates must be willing to provide 3 business references and agree to a criminal background check prior to hiring.
